Amish Applesauce Cake 

Preheat & Prepare the Baking Pan

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease and lightly  flour a 9-inch round or square baking pan.

 Mix the Dry Ingredients

 Cream the Butter & Sugars

  • In a large mixing bowl, beat together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each.
  • Stir in vanilla extract and applesauce.

 Combine & Fold in Nuts/Raisins

  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  • If using, fold in chopped walnuts or raisins for extra texture.

 Bake Until Perfectly Golden

  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top.
  • Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

 (Optional) Top with a Simple Glaze or Frosting!

✔ 1 cup powdered sugar
✔ 2 tbsp milk
✔ ½ tsp vanilla extract
