Optional (but highly recommended for flavor)

  • Dijon or yellow mustard – 1–2 tablespoons
  • Egg – 1 (for egg wash)
  • Milk or water – 1 tablespoon (to mix with egg)
  • Dried thyme or oregano – ½ teaspoon
  • Black pepper – to taste
  • Sesame seeds or grated cheese – for topping (optional)

👩‍🍳 Step-by-Step Instructions

1️⃣ Prepare the Puff Pastry

  • Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
  • Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  • Lightly flour your work surface.
  • Unroll the puff pastry sheet into a rectangle.
  • If it’s too thick, gently roll it out to about 3 mm thickness.

2️⃣ Add the Flavor Base

  • Spread a thin, even layer of mustard over the pastry (optional but adds depth).
  • Sprinkle a little black pepper or herbs if you like extra flavor.
